Esther Okoronkwo Named Joint Third Most Lethal Striker at the Northern Super League in a WAFCON Year 👑💃🏾🔥⚽️✨️
The technically gifted striker,Esther Okoronkwo took the NSL by storm at the start of her season and inaugural year, lighting up the league with superb goals and assist before departing for National Assignment at WAFCON24.
Unarguably, Esther was our most influential player at WAFCON, providing 4 separate match winning performances.
✅️Against Botswana, when we found it frustrating to break them down, she came in and unlocked their defense with a beautiful 🅰️ssist.
✅️Against a Zambian team tipped to give us a tough time at the quarterfinals, she gave an early tailor-made pass via set piece for the first goal which settled us unto the game smoothly. She then went on to score and provided a second 🅰️ssist via a well-measured set-piece.
Deadly dead ball specialist, Innit?
✅️Against South Africa, she gave an assist that led to the winning goal when the match became too hot for our team to deal.
✅️At the Grand Finale, our queen of assists orchestrated the Remontada that still contends as one of the greatest comebacks in Female Football history. Again, one goal and two assists, practically signing off every single goal we scored. We will also not forget she shouldered the responsibility of that penalty kick that brought us back into the game, carrying the weight of 2️⃣2️⃣0️⃣m people at a most cricual time.
She took this form back to club, AFC Toronto, winning the September 2024 Player of the Month and set a record at the NSL playoffs as the player with the fastest hattrick ever. Esther scored within the first 27 minute of the game scoring all within 20minutes.
Let's give a special shout out to the Northern Super League' Third Most Lethal Striker all Season✨️✨️✨️
